Almine Barton

1798301_10152579404239325_59363178_nGrowing up in Newport, Oregon, Almine Barton has a special fondness for her home state. She says “If you didn’t play in the rain year round, you didn’t play at all.” Known for embracing sport in all weather conditions, from ice climbing to rock climbing, CrossFit to Jiu-Jitsu, she embraces the philosophy of “moving the body in as many ways as possible to keep it healthy and on it’s toes.” Never one to shy away from a challenge, Almine was excited to venture off on her own and begin her own practice at Recharge this year.

As a certified fitness trainer since 2005 and CrossFit coach of several years (she’s been doing it for 9 yrs.!) with multiple fitness certifications under her belt from post-partum fitness, group exercise, spinning, mat Pilates, and aquatic training, there isn’t an environment (or level of athlete) she isn’t comfortable with treating or training.

She credits her training philosophy to having interned with the likes of elite Nike trainer Jeff Spurgeon and the influence of Coach Thomas V. Benge from “CrossFit Breakthrough.”

In the past year and a half, Almine has embraced martial arts in her life. She currently trains and competes under the guidance of Professor Ryan Clark at Clark’s University of Martial Arts here in Bend. If you don’t see her at CrossFit or Jiu-Jitsu, look for her climbing up the side of “Monkey Face” at Smith Rock (her reason for moving to Bend 9 yrs. ago).

She’s excited to offer the best of sports training, nutrition, & medicine to her patients at RechargeShe loves being a part of an integral sports medicine team, offering ancient medicine for the modern athlete.

She has her 4 yr. clinical Master’s degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and her undergraduate degree in Medical Anthropology, which she completed in several countries throughout the world, studying ancestral/tribal diets, & medical practices.

She looks forward to offering the best in acupuncture orthopedics for musculo-skeletal pain and injury, as well as to speed post-op recovery for athletes of all backgrounds and passions. Because continuing to do what you love is the greatest joy!
