Austin Baillie

AustinRunningAustin Baillie has been a massage therapist since 2008, when he graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.  Prior to becoming a massage therapist, he received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder where he competed for their track and cross country teams.

His main focuses as a therapist are deep tissue massage and active-isolated stretching with a performance focus.  With experience working on over 25 Olympians, as well as many other world and national class athletes, his passion lies in helping athletes of all levels toward their fitness goals while keeping them injury-free.  As an elite runner himself who qualified for the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials, he understands the demands placed upon an athlete’s body and has a strong sense of what to focus on during a massage.

Austin believes that, in addition to massage therapy, frequent “self-help” sessions are crucial for optimum performance and wellness.  When the athlete (and everybody is an athlete) takes control of their own preventive care, health benefits and performance goals follow.  That’s where Recharge comes in.  Austin and his wife, Renee, dreamed of opening an athletic recovery facility with this thought in mind for several years, and they decided to take the plunge in the summer of 2013.

Austin is a native Oregonian, but relatively new to the Bend area.  He loves all the outdoor activities that the high desert has to offer as well as the cool cultural scene that characterizes Bend.
